Camps will be swimming in the 악녀알바 Meineke pool during the majority of the afternoons as well as non-field-trip days. Campers are provided a special jersey to wear on their field trip days. Campers will need to bring their own face covering/masks to camp. Any camper who has more than 100F degrees of heat on them that day will not be allowed in the camp.

Due to Health & Safety protocols, we are able to only offer Day Camp for a limited number of campers. We offer recreational day camp filled with fun activities and learning experiences. WCAs Summer Day Camp provides a recreational program for children of parents needing child care during the summer. Franke Park Day Camp has provided fun and adventure to children in this community for more than 60 years.

Every day is an adventure at this ever-changing and engaging camp for children aged 7-11. Day camps, also known in some areas as summer camps, are for those who are ages 3-7. Many families sign up their children to day camps over the summer to get daytime supervision. Traditional day camps are important in ways that are different than a slew of other summer activities.

Many day camps are located at urban parks, sports complexes, schools, or at public facilities like a YMCA or a Boy Scouts camp, or are operated by governmental organizations. Some day camps are located on the same property as an overnight camp, with the same resources and activities, serving local campers alongside children from overseas. For parents themselves, traditional day camps, therefore, may offer the scaffolding of a nearly similar camp experience as resident camps, without the long-term separation anxiety. Campers are able to learn independence with day camp, as kids will be responsible for changing out on their own, making sure they know where their belongings are, and deciding what they want to eat that day.

The camp is designed to give every child a loving environment designed to help children grow physically, socially, and spiritually, as well as increase a childs interest in recreation activities. Play Camp is offered to age 3-5, while Teen Camp is offered to ages 13-17.

The 6 weeks of summer fun will feature sports, arts, fitness, and outdoor activities that are traditionally offered in camps, with the following ideas weaving through the experience at the camps. This is an all-day program organized around a specific theme or goal, providing campers with excitement, yet which still maintains the structure of activities and rotational schedules for visiting various locations on Summit Camp. A Summit Camp day is structured around various scheduled activities, meals, and planned special events in each sessions calendar. Campers younger than 15 return to camp on the same day following their special picnic lunch in the park.

Weekend camps are available for girls ages kindergarten through adulthood, typically lasting for two days with an overnight. Girl Scouts go on a camp trip that ranges from three days to fourteen days and nights (five nights is an average). The overnight campout is always a highlight of every two-week session. This year, camps filled up really fast, with the majority of our sessions being filled.

Our 85-acre camp has great equipment and facilities for many fun activities. Camps for our younger campers, the Wee Camp and Kindercamp, feature smaller cabins. During activities, campers travel in their huddles to various activities like archery, arts & crafts, camp games, etc.

During the school year, our camp hosts “Sunrise Sundays”–special days of activities for our campers–with many of the same staff members that helped make their summers so great. Sunrise Sundays feature sports, crafts, and special performances and programs. These include our community spirit day (first session) and track and field day (second session) — a Summit Camp version of Color Wars — as well as Summitstock in third/final session (including music festival performed by campers at night). Summer Day Camp includes a Trading Post for campers to purchase snacks, supplies, and memorabilia from their time at the adventure day camp.

A typical Adventure Day Camp day includes an opening flag drop and camp announcements, swimming, B.B.s, archery, boating, hands-on science experiments, a potluck, an outdoors skills class, and, of course, non-stop fun. Adventure Day Camp is packed every day with adventures such as archery, BB, boating, swimming, crafts, outside cooking, bonfire-building, nature appreciation, and daily STEM projects. Parkn It Day Camp (5-12 years old) is a traditional day camp program during the summer, held Monday through Friday, from 9am-4pm at a variety of East Bay regional parks. Each morning, campers are expected to come prepared to experience an amazing day of adventures.

Due to capacity limitations, camp this year will only be open to Chicago residents. Children who are not picked up after the end of the camp day will be monitored by our staff. If your child wishes to attend in the same group with another camper, please inform the camp director ASAP.

For a camper who has behavioral problems, a camp director may be able to review a Camp Behavior Management Plan with the parents, and parents may be able to reinforce specific consequences at home prior to the child returning to camp on the following day. At camp, many problems, particularly ones where a camper feels excluded from a group or is anxious about being away from home, require several days for resolution. Then, at the end of every day, a fleet of buses rolls out of camp, taking campers back home with them.

Parents are encouraged to volunteer during the week their camper is attending camp, and they receive full credit toward their childs camp fees when they complete a full week (volunteers are required to undergo the same training, background checks, and accreditations as paid staff). Through physical, social, and educational activities, day campers develop self-reliance, a love of nature and the outdoors, and develop attitudes and practices that build character and leadership — all while enjoying bonfires, bugle calls, canoeing, soccer games, archery, and a talent show.
