Improve soccer performance, confidence on the ball and increase overall skill
Bring a new level of enthusiasm to your soccer training sessions! Develop more confidence on the ball while increasing overall soccer skills. Incorporating the Brasilian Futebol into your soccer practices is a great way to accomplish this goal. This is the same tool which Brazilian soccer players have used to gain the edge that has led to their continued dominance of the world of soccer.
The Brasilian Futebol provides a simple, yet dynamic component which can elevate any soccer player, novice or advanced, to a higher level of play. It’s versatile enough to develop and hone all the ball skills required to compete in the game of soccer. It’s a concept so simple and practical it can be employed in any session on any surfaced.
Used in technical skill work, tactical play, warm-ups, or simple games, the dynamics of this ball will benefit all players by pushing them to focus on the finer points of skill development such as first touch and receiving a ball, as well as proper passing technique and delivery. The futebol will constantly test the envelope of any player’ soccer skills and their improvement with the regulation soccer game ball will be noticeable.
Imagine the flair, touch, skill – the art -that Brazilians bring to soccer on your field.
Soccer Training Programs for the Brasilian Futebol
The BRASILIAN FUTEBOL is the perfect training tool to improve players’ technical abilities. The size of the Futebol forces players to focus on their technique and sharpens eye/foot coordination. It’s texture makes it more lively which will develop a good first touch as well as a “soft touch” for higher level players. But the bounce is also ideal for the beginner allowing them more bounces between touches thus greater success. The futebol is also weighted similar to a size 5 regulation ball which develops a truer touch than most small balls. Training with a smaller ball will improve players’ abilities to find the center of the ball or sweet spot. Developing the ability to strike or control the Futebol correctly translates into improved technical mastery of the soccer ball. Remember – If a player can trap’ control and pass the bouncy smaller Futebol – It makes sense that performance will be improved when dealing with a larger, less lively soccer ball. Most technical training done with a soccer ball can be substituted with the BRASILIAN FUTEBOL.
Juggling is a great way to develop skills needed in the game of soccer. Developing the ability to strike the ball properly and consistently enough to keep a soccer ball alive and in the air can help players hone eye/foot coordination – passing and trapping skills, and develop confidence on the ball that is needed to find success.
It’s not as simple as just learning how to juggle. Normal training is required for fitness, decision making and to sharpen all the movements, agility and mechanics involved in the game of soccer. But time spent with the ball juggling can be extremely beneficial as a compliment to all the fine skills needed to play at a high level.
Using a smaller ball like the Brasilian Futebol or even a tennis ball can accelerate progress and sharpen eye-foot coordination as well as develop balance, quick feet and touch on the ball. After becoming accomplished as a juggler with a small ball you will find it much easier to control and manipulate a normal ball.

Love this one. You need a field and 3 goals, but hey, we can always improvise! We spent many sessions shooting at equipment bags, benches or cones.
Juggling for touch.
Three players are required.
Two players set themselves 25 to 30 yards apart. Third players stands between them.
The ball starts with one of the outside players (A) and is played into the middle player (X) who plays it back to (A). (A) plays the ball to the other outside player (B) who toches it to (X). (X) plays it back to (B) and (B) plays the ball to (A). A to X to A < to> B to X to B< to> A etc etc. It is a nice little short-short-long-short-short long…..
Turn this into a semi juggling exercise where the players attempt to play the ball in the air and trap/receive the ball before it bounces or after 1 or 2 bounces. Use one to three touches to control the ball and execute a good pass.
Work on passing the ball with proper pace, good direction (hitting the target chosen) and apply a reasonable trajectory, meaning don’t just kick the ball in the air and hope it gets there.
Eventually players will be able to execute this drill using just 1 touch, two touches when necessary. And eventually it would be ideal to minimize the bounces and possibly eliminate the bounce.
Different twist. A plays to X, X turns the ball (with 1 to 3 touches) and plays to B. B plays to X, X turns the ball and plays to A.
Excellent for touch and developing passing and receiving. Really focuses on the first touch as players must control the ball in their space and use the first touch to set up the second which could be/should be a pass.
