Using the Brasilian Futebol as a training tool for any situation including warm-ups, individual training, technical training and small game or game like situations is a great way to enhance touch and confidence on the ball.
Introducing games that players will want to play on their own is essential to growth and creativity. We like Futebol Tennis as a means of skills development while having fun.
Futebol tennis is designed to develop ball handling skills under the stress of competition. Players are forced to handle the balls using restricted touches and play balls back with accuracy and tactical reasoning. Players develop touch and enhance decision making skills while trying to engineer tactics to successfully out play their opponents.
3 touches and one bounce per side. see

We have found the Brasilian Futebol to be an ideal training tool for any situation including warm-ups, individual training, technical training and small game or game like situations.
The Brasilian Futebol can be plugged into sessions to add focus on touch and control which is essential to every training session. Control is key to develop possession which allows tactics to be employed. First touch is a key element to control/possession and should be emphasized in every drill regarding ball control and passing.
Training does not have to be so regimented as to take the fun out of play. Jugging can add allot of fun to skills development as an individual, in pairs or in groups.

David Beckham is still expected to join the Los Angeles Galaxy in mid-July despite an ankle injury sustained in his final game with Real Madrid.
Beckham ended a four-year stint with the Spanish club Sunday, leaving in the second half of its 3-1 victory over Mallorca that clinched the Spanish League title on the final day of the season.
He originally injured his left ankle playing for England in a European Championship qualifier on June 6 and it flared up again Sunday.

A skillful first touch gives a player time and space in which to move with and/or play the ball to a teammate or shoot. A good first touch as a tactical team concept speeds the pace of the game, cuts down on turn overs and is essential to controlling the ball as well as dictate the pace and play of the game. Receiving the ball requires a soft touch allowing the ball to settle in the players space or sweet spot and away from pressure. The mechanics of a skillfull first touch is artfull and requires great footwork, balance, body control and the ability to focus on the ball while under pressure and/or while being pushed or bumped. Not only must players settle the ball in a tight space, they must do so while moving to the ball and getting in position to recieve the ball in a way which creates the best advantage or simply allows the player to move away from pressuree keeping the ball at feet in order to play the ball quickly.
Developing a first touch takes time and consistency. Players can work on recieving a ball while juggling individually, in pairs or as a group. Using a smaller ball such as the Brasilian futebol can increase performance. Ultimately practices should focus on the first touch in every drill and game replication untill a thoughtful and skillful first touch becomes second nature. Confidence on the ball is essential to game play.

Great idea for training or just playing with a friend. We've been playing this for years on tennis courts or out on the field using benches for nets or whatever we could find.
Get your players hooked and they will play all day. The by-product is a noticable increase in players ball handling ability. It's a game thats all about skill.
Check out soccer-tennis.com. They offer a user friendly kit that you can set up anywhere. "The soccer-tennis trainer™ is perfect for coaches who want to make their practices more fun and challenging. It’s also ideal for parents who want their soccer players to have a fun game to play at home or anywhere else."
Include the brasilian futebol to really develop some mad skills.

The Brasilian Futebol is cited in book called "Total Knee Replacement and Rehabilitation: THe Knee Owners Manual" as a tool for regaining balance, range of motion and flexibility. This is an excellent book for anyone thinking of having TKR. The information contained in this book answeres many of the questions about the whole process from start to finish. Written by a doctor and a PT with personal experience in TKR rehab, the exercises in this book are much more advanced than one might receive in Physical Therapy regimine. It is great having a P. Therapist who has been through the surgery write about his experience.
